That Mabon (1994) Serphant and I
Barded Raven WindSpirit. Then in Spring (1995) came the barding of
Alaerian StarBrother who was and is SerpentStone's Chief Bard,
Ayra, and Pulsar. Alaerian was granted the presence of Taliesin to
be his Mantle.
Then Mabon (1995) brought five to the
Bardic Ones, those five being Bear, Diuve, Sehoya, Arachne, and
Serphant himself. For Serphant was the ninth Bard, as I was the
first, to make the inception complete.
Then Mabon (1996) bore five more Bards, those
five being Lee, Jewels Wyldwomyn, Nightwind, Cohalan, and Sior;
and what a celebration with horses(Epona) and owls alike
(Blodeuwedd) !
And lo, who could have known on Mabon 1996
(September 20) when the Moon was nigh and the Sun close by to
embrace us; that Serphant would depart his Earthly Sojourn and
leave us to embark upon a Journey anew...
But do not weep, Bardic Friends, for Serphant
took the hands of his Lady and Lord and greeted them with love
and longing. And oft times in the mountains' circle his presence still
be known amongst us...for he bid us to carry on the Great Work that
we so vowed to undertake, that is, to sing the songs, to tell the
stories, to assist with the healing of the Universe and each Soul and
Spirit in it, to strengthen ourselves and others, to be warriors, to be
guardians of traditions and non-traditions alike, and to do these
things in a way that teaches and helps others to learn more about
the Web of Life and who and where they are in the Web.
And so we continue, and shall
continue, that we may honor our brother Serphant and the gods
who guide and protect us.
Now in Spring (1997), in the month of sages,
came Metis and Mahta fair among us. And we danced with dragons
and sang with the gods and celebrated the Circle of Life and Love
once more.
And then it came on a Summer Solstice (1998)
that we gathered where the Dragons keep their rest and Circles;
and lo, what a chorus of dance and song and lore filled the great
Halls of Awynn. And Dilyn became the next one promised to us
while we journeyed through the Labrynth to greet him.
And the Circle comes 'round again to Winter
Solstice (1998) and accepted Aryr, kin to Myrddin, to join the Festival
of Lights with us. And the Sword remains with us; aye, the Sword's
very Presence of Truth and Wisdom.
