Suggested Packing List



The following is a list that can be used when packing to attend one of the gatherings. Some items, for experienced backpackers or outdoors persons, may be considered luxury items, while others such as tents, clothing and bedding to keep warm in winter and cool in summer, snacks, drinks, prescription medicines,and so on are essential. Please consider time of year, weather variations, and your own personal needs when deciding what to bring.


General items:
Tent
Hammer (for tent stakes)
Doormat (useful in front of your tent to keep from tracking in too much dirt)
Small broom and dustpan (useful for sweeping out your tent when you're packing it up)
Air mattress
Sleeping bag or other bedding such as pads and blankets
Pillow
Tarp
Towels
Flashlight
Sunscreen
Folding camp chair
Raingear (best to bring it, just in case)
Solar shower (some sites have showers)
Trash bags (keeping the area around your tent clean helps Mother Earth feel better)

On a more personal level:
Soap
Deodorant
Shampoo and conditioner
Toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss
Hand and body lotion
Lip balm
comb and/or brush
Prescription medications (please be sure to bring the prescriptions in labelled bottles)

Rainy weather gear:
Hat (to keep the rain off your head, especially if it is cold)
Tarp (over your tent to provide a dry area before entering your tent, or in case your tent is not waterproofed)
Plastic sheet (to put under your tent to protect it from moisture from the ground)
Rain jacket or other water resistant or water proof clothing to keep you warm and dry
Shoes and socks (bring extra in case the ones you are wearing get wet)

Food and other related items:
Water (for drinking, brushing teeth, and so on)
Drinks (if desired)
Feast gear (plates, bowls, silverware, cups)
Food donations for the feasts
Lunchstuff and snacks for in-between to keep your energy levels balanced
Hand sanitizing gel
Pre-moistened Antibacterial Towelettes
Cooler
Camp stove and cookware
Folding camp table
Biodegradable camp soap (for cleaning dishes)
Charcoal grill or grill grates to place over camp fire

Items for cold weather:
Extra blankets or sleeping bags (some under and some over you to keep you warm from the cold from the ground and above)
Warm clothes
Pocket Hand, foot, and body warmers

Items for warm weather:
Lightweight clothes
Long sleeve shirt and long pants (in case you get sun burn)
Bug discouragement (eating garlic or taking garlic pills starting 3 days before arriving and until leaving helps, burn citronelle candles, lemon balm oil rubbed on skin, mosquito coils, and so on)
Swim gear (if site has a place for swimming)

Fun Stuff:
Drums, bells, musical instruments
Ritual gear
Banner to identify yourself or your group
Temporary tattoos or henna kits
Small notebook and pen


These are only some of the items that you may wish to bring. Please make sure that you bring the things which will keep you comfortable and safe.
